am a Deputy with the Mariposa County Sheriff's Department. One of the best tools that we have recently added to the TracNet program has been Bar-coding of property. The bar coding has reduced the size of packaging needed to package our evidence and made a much more presentable package especially in court. The time savings for the Evidence Technician, who has only been using it for less than one month, has saved numerous hours of hand tallying and recording not to mention the exact tracking of evidentiary items.
